The Michigan Youth Challenge Academy admissions process is now open for the academy’s next class, Cycle #53, which begins on July 13, 2025, according to a March 24 press release.

To begin the application process, interested youth and parents can visit the admissions page at michigan.gov/myca/admissions-process.

Alpena will hold an in-person information session, a mandatory part of the application process, on May 20.

The Michigan Youth Challenge Academy educates, trains, and mentors at-risk youth in a quasi-military environment at no cost to participants, giving young people the skills to become productive and responsible citizens.
