March 17
6:05 a.m. A welfare check was requested on a Rust Township resident by a family member. A deputy responded to the residence to find the subject to be fine.
6:28 a.m. A single vehicle in the ditch in Montmorency Township was reported by multiple people. A deputy responded to the area and found the vehicle. No one was inside, the vehicle was towed from the scene.
8:34 a.m. A welfare check was requested on a resident of Avery Township. A deputy responded to the residence, the subject was found to be fine.
9:07 a.m. Albert and Vienna Township fire were requested by Otsego County for a barn fire on Sparr Rd. Both townships send a tanker and manpower to assist Charlton Township.
11:10 a.m. A concerned citizen called to request deputies check on two people on Lake 15 fishing. The caller reported a vehicle in the lot but her couldn’t locate any fisherman. Deputies responded and located the subjects safe and sound.
12:30 p.m. A deer vehicle was reported in Avery Township; a deputy responded to take the report.
4:59 p.m. A property check was requested after a subject saw a SBS on his property via cameras. A deputy responded to the seasonal residence and found all the buildings to be secure and the SBS was no longer there.
7:24 p.m. A resident dropped off a suspicious package at MCSO.
March 18
12:43 a.m. A large white dog was reported in the roadway in Vienna Township. Deputies responded with a catch pole but were unable to locate the dog.
11:30 a.m. While on routine patrol a traffic stop was initiated by MCSO deputy. The driver was found to be driving on an expired plate. She was cited for the expired plate and warned for speed.
11:41 a.m. A dog bite was reported in the Village of Hillman, a deputy responded to the residence of the victim. A report was taken, the deputy attempted to contact the owner of the dog, but no one was home. Investigation is ongoing at this time.
March 19
1:07 p.m. A two vehicle accident was reported in Hillman; a deputy responded and took a report.
March 20
8:55 a.m. A subject come into the lobby to report damage to their property; a deputy took the complaint.
March 21
8:20 a.m. While on routine patrol an officer initiated a traffic stop, the driver was found to have a warrant out of another jurisdiction. The driver was taken into custody and transported to jail.
10:54 a.m. MSP Trooper and DNR CO went to a residence in Albert Township to pick up a subject on multiple DNR warrants. The subject was taken into custody and transported to Alpena Jail.
11:16 a.m. An erratic driver was reported via multiple 911 calls. A deputy responded to the area, the driver had pulled off the road. EMS was called to the scene by the deputy due to the subject having a medical emergency.
1:40 p.m. A two vehicle crash was reported in the Village of Hillman; no injuries were reported. A deputy responded to the scene to take the report.
2:53 p.m. A report of a male subject sitting on the side of the road waving at people was called in via 911. An MSP Trooper in the area went to check on the subject. The subject was found to be fine, just trying to get a ride.
3:06 p.m. A report of a powerline down and on fire in was reported in Albert Township. Albert Township Fire, Atlanta DNR fire and a DNR CO all responded to the fire. The fire was put out and PIE&G responded to repair the power line.
6:02 p.m. A conservation officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no plate in Albert Township. One male was placed into custody and lodged at ACJ for an Alpena County warrant.
6:52 p.m. A dispute was reported in Briley Township. Deputies responded and were able to separate all parties for the night.
8:58 p.m. A subject was locked out of his residence and believed people may be inside. Deputies responded and found the residence secure with nobody inside.
March 22
4:59 p.m. An anonymous call came in regarding a driver that may be under the influence of drugs. The vehicle was located, the driver was not under the influence but was driving while license suspended. She was given a citation and court date.
6:18 p.m. An erratic driver was reported in Briley Township. A deputy was able to locate the driver and conducted a traffic stop.
March 23
1:36 p.m. A call came in requesting an officer to a business in Briley Township due to the door being wide open. A deputy responded and secured the building.
4:18 p.m. While on routine patrol a DNR CO initiated a traffic stop in Albert Township. The driver was found to have a warrant out of another jurisdiction. The driver was taken into custody and transported to Otsego Jail.
5:13 p.m. A dog wandered into a neighboring yard in Briley Township. The complainant shut the gate to her fence so deputies could catch it and transport it to ECAS. Prior to law enforcement arrival, the dog escaped from the fence. Deputies were unable to locate the animal.
10:19 p.m. Deputies responded to a business in Briley Township for a suspicious vehicle reported by employees. Prior to the deputies arrival, the vehicle had already left.
