Residents in Alpena have until 6 a.m. Monday to get their yard debris left from the ice storm out to the curbside so the Department of Public Works can pick it up.

The city anticipates most brush should be picked up around May 16.

This will be the last timeframe in which the waivers will be allowed for pile size and extended time.

Due to the extensive brush pickup in April, there will not be an additional brush pickup in May. Any remaining brush material after May 16 will follow normal code enforcement procedures.

Stack brush with the cut edge facing the street. Brush smaller than three inches or smaller pine materials should be in with bagged materials.

To allow for faster pickup, please stack logs, brush, and bagged materials separately. Staff will not go onto private property to remove limbs or trees.
