In a Wednesday press release, Superintendent Dave Rabbideau of Alpena Public Schools stated that APS will be closed for the remainder of the week.

“After meeting with representatives from local and regional emergency management agencies, it is clear that in order to provide the safest environment for our students and staff, Alpena Public Schools will close for the remainder of this week,” Rabbideau said.

Staff do not need to report unless directed by their direct supervisor.

Rabbideau asked the community to monitor the APS social media and local media for more information on resources available in the area.

APS will provide updates as appropriate.
