Detective Lt. Stuart Sharp retires from Michigan State Police after 31 years

After 31 years of service, Detective Lt. Stuart Sharp will be retiring from the Michigan State Police, effective today, according to a Wednesday press release.
He began his career with the MSP in 1994 as a member of the 109th Trooper Recruit School. His first post assignment was at the Rockford Post as a trooper.
Later, he served at the Alpena Post as a trooper, where he was later promoted to a sergeant in 2012. In 2015, he was promoted to detective lieutenant of the Task Force Section, where he was the commander of Huron Undercover Narcotics Team as well as the Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement team.
Sharp plans to enjoy time with his family and friends in retirement, the release said.
