Huron Pines hosts annual Birding Big Sit event
On May 10, Huron Pines is hosting its third annual Birding Big Sit at North Point Nature Preserve.
According to Huron Pines, the preserve is located east of Alpena and comprises 1,400 acres of forested wetlands, four miles of shoreline, and ecosystems found only at the Great Lakes. Huron Pines has special access to North Point Nature Preserve, which is normally not open to the public.
People of all levels of birding and outdoor experience can participate, according to Huron Pines. Experts will be on site to help fledgling birders build their skills. Participants should expect to walk on trails and be outside for the entirety of the event. Huron Pines recommends participants bring a reusable water bottle, snacks, sun protection, and binoculars.
