Ice storm cleanup starts

News Photo by Darby Hinkley Downed branches are seen on Friday at Bay View Park in Alpena, following a severe ice storm that started on Saturday, March 29 and caused extensive damage to the area.

The Alpena Department of Public Works crews are actively cleaning up roadside brush, the city said in a recent press release. If citizens have brush on their property, place it in the area between the sidewalk and the street with all brush stacked with the cut edge facing the street. The cleanup process will be completed over the next several weeks. Call the DPW service line at 989-354-1780 with questions or concerns.
