CARYL ‘SUE’ ANDERSON
Caryl ‘Sue’ Anderson, 82, passed away peacefully at Sally’s Care Home on Dec. 2, 2021.
Caryl ‘Sue’ Farrier was born on Feb. 2, 1940, to Ervin and Evelyn Farrier of Hillman. Sue graduated from Hillman High School in 1958 and attended Central Michigan University. She married William Emerson in 1961, and together they had one daughter, Sheri. Sue worked as a florist for Linke’s Flowers and the Flower Spot for many years.
In 1999, she married Gary Anderson and together they built their dream home on Long Lake. She and Gary loved going to the casino, gardening, hosting summer bbq’s, spending the holidays with family, bragging about their four amazing grandchildren, and cheering on their beloved Detroit Tigers. After Gary suffered a stroke in 2000, Sue devoted herself to providing Gary with outstanding care. She worked tirelessly to provide him with the aid, therapy, compassion, and love necessary for his recovery, and his family remains forever grateful.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Sheri Emerson Sander (Alan Wallace) of Tempe, Arizona and Labrador City, Canada, Shawn (Phil) Cramton, Brett (Dawn) Anderson, Kenny Anderson and her adored grandchildren, Ryan Marable-Sanders (Madison), Paige Sanders, Taylor (Johnny) Onaga, and Matthew Cramton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gary Anderson.
Memorial visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home in Alpena on Thursday, Dec. 9 from 2 – 8 p.m. where memorial services will be on Friday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Arnie Kirschner officiating.
Inurnment will be at Hillman-Rust Cemetery.
