JANET J. GRIGSBY

Janet Grigsby passed away on Jan. 26, 2024. She was 89. Born to Genevra and Walter Inglis, she grew up on the family farm with her four siblings. At the age of 17, she became an elementary school teacher. Then she pursued other careers until she finally settled in Florida as a real estate agent. She had a brief return to Michigan by Crooked Lake to care for her mother and then returned to Florida for her retirement years. Her final move was to Illinois to be close to family.

She loved being with people and would go out of her way to help them and to make special days more significant. This was seen until the end as she would take walks and compliment staff and residents on their hair or shirt, especially anything red. She would share any snacks that she had.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Walter and Genevra Inglis, brothers Walter and Bruce, sister Marilyn and sister-in-law Carol.

She is survived by her brother Winslow, sisters-in-law Charlotte and Marlene, and many nieces and nephews.
