ANN MARIE THIBAULT

Ann Marie Thibault

Aug. 16, 1931 – Oct. 16, 2024

Ann Marie Thibault, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on Oct. 16, 2024, at the age of 93, in her hometown of Alpena, Michigan. Born on Aug. 16, 1931, to the late August and Martha (Skierski) Timmreck, Ann’s life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and faith.

Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 74 years, Wilfred “Doug” Thibault, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their children Terry (Wendy), Raymond (Catherine), Mark (Gayle), and Kathryn (Patrick) Styma. She was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, who will carry her legacy forward.

Ann’s siblings held a special place in her heart. She is survived by her brothers, Phillip (Donna) Timmreck and Chet (Dolores) Timmreck; her sisters, Alice Roy and June Smolinski; and her sister-in-law, Helen Kendziorski. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and Raymond Timmreck, and her sisters, Jean Ristau, Verna Kaiser, and Dorothy Kaiser.

Though Ann worked for a short time at the Fraser factory, she found her true calling as a stay-at-home mom. She poured her heart into creating a warm and loving home for her family. Ann was an exceptional cook, and her chocolate chip cookies were legendary among family and friends. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family as she welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and a warm meal.

Nature held a special place in Ann’s heart, as she found joy in the beauty of the world around her. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, and her enthusiasm for the game was infectious. Ann Marie’s beloved dog, Gigi, was a constant companion and source of comfort in her later years.

A lifelong member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Ann’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. It was there that she and Doug were married on June 24, 1950. She will be dearly missed.

A viewing will take place at St. Anne Catholic Church on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at noon with Fr. Tyler Bischoff as celebrant. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to All Saints Parish Alpena or Huron Humane Society. Arrangements have been entrusted with McWilliams Funeral Home.
