After retiring from the Navy, he continued to serve his community by working for the United States Postal Service, where he also retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and reliability.

He is survived by mother, Elaine Brown of Alpena; sister, Wilma Brown of Alpena; brother, H. Will Brown of Canisteo, N.Y.; son, Brian of Kentucky; granddaughter, Ashlyn of Alpena; aunts, Billy Jo Elkins of Mikado, Linda Ackley of Walled Lake; uncle, Roy (Vi) Ackley of Georgia; four nephews; two nieces; and five great-nephews, all of whom he adored and who will miss him deeply. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Brown Sr., along with, Bob Elkins and Gary Bates.

Growing up as an Army brat, Ronald developed a zest for life and travel that never faded. In his retirement, he became a beloved snowbird, spending his summers in Michigan with his mother and sister, and his winters in Florida with friends. His love for camping and traveling allowed him to embrace the beauty of life and share countless memories with those he met along the way.
