Gregory Paul Briley, 72, of Alpena, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at his home.
Greg was born in Alpena on May 20, 1952, to the late Cleo and Emma (Dice) Briley. Greg retired from the Besser Company in 2010, was a member of All Saints Parish, loved to ride his motorcycle, enjoyed woodworking, but most importantly was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Greg was also a longtime, active member of the Alpena Biker Coalition. Greg was an active board member, Coalition Chaplin, and instrumental in the success of the coalition Bikefest, the Toys for Kids, bike runs, the blessing of the bike and many other community bikers fundraising events.
Surviving are two children, Jennifer (Rick) Gruschke-Mowery, Christopher Briley; five grandchildren, Parker Gruschke, Kerrigan Gruschke, Mira Briley, Charles Mowery, Dillon Mowery; mother of his children, Sonja Briley; four siblings, Florence White, Regina Hottois, Allen Briley, Katheryn Smith; brother-in-law, Roger Marquart; sister-in-law, Judy Briley, Jan Briley; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Briley was preceded in death by five siblings, Mary Marquart, Larry Briley, Carl Briley, Christopher Briley, and Roger Briley.
Memorial visitation will take place on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, at the Bannan Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorial visitation will continue on Monday at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tyler Bischoff officiating.
