HARRIETT FRANCELIA BRITTON

Harriett Francelia Britton, 82, of Alpena, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at her home.

Harriett Francelia Blanden was born on July 16, 1942, in Tecumseh to the late Merwin and Francelia (Ford) Blanden, MD. She graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1960 and attended Eastern Michigan University. On Aug. 31, 1963, she married Lee R. Britton, MD. She worked for Customer Service at Oldsmobile in Lansing, Hoover Ball Bearing in Ann Arbor where she managed the flight department and later worked for Alpena Surgical Associates. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, the cabin at Grand Marais, jaunts to the Island of Anegada, BVI, world travel, Alpena Yacht Club, Lake Winyah Club, Alpena Blue Line Club and past president of the Alpena Tray Club.

Surviving are her husband, Lee R. Britton, MD; two sons, Todd Britton, Matthew Britton; four grandchildren, Hailey Britton, Jenna Britton, Paige Hamilton, David Hamilton; brother, David (Barbara) Blanden; brother-in-law, John Britton; sister-in-law, Debbie Blanden; special friends, Trent Sherman, J.P. Ritter; special dog, Diesel; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Britton was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Doreen Britton, and a brother, Russell Blanden.

Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home. A celebration of Harriett’s life will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Huron Humane Society or Alpena Community College Foundation.
