JEAN ANNETTA KORTMAN

Jean Annetta Kortman, 80, of Lachine, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, at home.

Jean Annetta Miller was born Feb. 17, 1944, in Alpena to the late Carl and Irene (Griffith) Cole. On Nov. 2, 1963, she married Douglas Kortman. Jean enjoyed making and selling Jeannie’s Baked Goods at Alpena Farmers Market.

Surviving are her husband, Doug; five children, Brad Kortman, Jodi (Richard) Newman, Amy (fiance Tom Bossard Kortman, Eric (Patricia) Kortman, Brant (fiance Ashley Smith) Kortman; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by a grandchild, great-grandchild, and sister, Carolyn VanVolkenburg.

Memorial visitation will take place Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at Lachine Community of Christ from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at noon with Elder Kendall Sumerix officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
