MICHAEL JOSEPH BRAUN

Mr. Michael Joseph Braun, 55, of Atlanta, left this world much too soon on Nov. 9, 2024. He was born in Detroit, on May 18, 1969, to Daniel and Lucille (Rondan) Braun. After graduating from high school, Michael enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country for the better part of 20 years, with an honorable discharge as Sergeant First Class. He was very devoted to his country and would have re-enlisted at any provided opportunity. He was extremely knowledgeable about our country, the government, and politics. He enjoyed watching the news and keeping up to date with events around the world. He was a committed brother and Mason through St. Louis, Missouri Lodge #1. Michael was awarded a quilt of valor for his honorable and dedicated service to our country. After his service in the Army, he began working as a corrections officer at the Montmorency County Sheriff’s Department where he was employed for 12 years. Aside from work, he could often be found watching Netflix or a scary movie, listening to music, or spending time with his fur babies. He loved to cook a variety of food from tortillas and beans to steaks and stir fry. Michael was a family man and took great care of his children, and loving wife, Danelle. He is and will always be deeply missed.
Michael is remembered by his wife, Danelle Braun; children, Brandyn Braun, Lauren Braun, Heather Braun, Anastasia Braun, and Kristina Braun; siblings, Yvette Braun, Yvonne Olshove, Daniel Braun Jr; parents, Daniel (Lucille) Braun; in-laws, Debbie (Dennis) Villeneuve Sr; brother-in-law, Dennis (Heidi) Villeneuve; nephews and nieces, Alex (Erica) Kaspo and their children, Marshall Villeneuve, Michael Villeneuve, Keegan Culham, Brett Culham, Kerrigan (Trent) Sweeney, Kody Braun and Kutler Braun.
A military funeral service will take place for Michael at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, at Green Funeral Home, Atlanta. Visitation will take place on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, from 2 to 6 p.m. Interment will take place at Briley Township Cemetery where Michael will be laid to rest. Luncheon to follow at Eagle’s in Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation. Arrangements were entrusted to Green Funeral Home.
