DENA MELANIE HOGARTH

Mrs. Dena Melanie Hogarth, 80 of Hillman, died peacefully on Dec. 12, 2024, at her home. She was born on Oct. 30, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Vincent and Doris Stezicinski. She was welcomed into Heaven with outstretched arms by her late daughter, Dawne. Dena has resided in Hillman since the 1980s and worked at Neiman’s Family Market in Alpena for the past 12 years. She was a devout Catholic. When Dena was younger, she used to enjoy hunting and fishing. She had a special place in her heart for the outdoors. She loved being in the woods and would often take her grandchildren out on adventures with her. She also enjoyed tending and maintaining her yard. Dena is and will be deeply missed.

She is remembered by her daughter, Debbie (Kaleb Edwards) Schalk; grandchildren, Christopher (Kristen) Richards, Kendra McMurphy, Travis Schalk, and Adam Schalk; great-grandson, Kamden Paz; brother, Vincent Stezeinski; and close friends, Marty Polakowski and Mark Rucinski. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Doris Stezicinski; and daughter, Dawne Richards.
