EMMA EMILY LISKE

Emma Emily Liske passed away peacefully on Dec. 10, 2024, at the age of 99, in her sleep surrounded by her family. Emma was born in Ossineke on March 6, 1925, to Adolph and Alvina (Kautz) Ziesman. On June 7, 1947, she married Arnold G. Liske. He preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 2006. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Hubbard Lake. Emma was a Sunday School teacher and superintendent at Trinity Lutheran, she wrote and directed programs for children and women’s organizations, a pastoral and lector at Hope, organized choir at Trinity in 1961 which is now the Hope Choir, was an active worker at Hope, was an active life member of 6754 Auxiliary of Spruce VFW, belonged to the Cooties Auxiliary, and volunteered at Trinity Episcopal Sunday Supper.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda (Donald) Shapter, Sharon (Hugh) Jack; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Tami (Bruce) Anschuetz; sister, Bertha Ortlieb; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Liske.
Emma was preceded in death by her son, Mike Liske; siblings, Adeline Kowalski, Rudy Ziesman, Wilbert Ziesman, Carl Ziesman; two infant brothers, Herman and Richard.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at Hope Lutheran Church, Hubbard Lake from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon with the Rev. Dr. Bryan R. Salminen officiating. Arrangements have been made by the Bannan Funeral Home.
Interment: Hope Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Build Hope.
