Melissa Cramer, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away Dec. 21, 2024, with her mother by her side, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories. Melissa fought a fearless battle against leukemia. Born on Feb. 25, 1984, in Alpena, Melissa graduated from Alpena High School with the Class of 2002.
Melissa’s journey through life took her to various cities, including Austin, Texas; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Charleston, South Carolina, where she formed lasting friendships and unforgettable experiences. An avid sports enthusiast, she had a passion for playing hockey, golf and was a dedicated fan of the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Lions.
Melissa’s love for travel took her to incredible destinations, including Rome for the Ryder Cup in 2023. She also enjoyed many golf trips around the country and found immense joy in these moments of leisure and adventure.
Melissa is survived by her loving parents, Dawn Cramer of Austin, Texas, and Glen Cramer of Alpena; her brother Dustin (Tara) Cramer; her niece Natalie Cramer; her nephew Colton Cramer; and her grandmother, Carolee Cramer of Alpena. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James Cramer. Francis (Buck) Saddler and Rosalie Saddler. Her family and friends will forever remember her vibrant spirit, her love for sports, and her unwavering dedication to the people she loved.
Melissa will be cremated, and there will be a celebration of her life later.
Melissa’s warmth, kindness, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
