HELEN MARIE KORTMAN

Helen Marie Kortman, 87, of Alpena, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, at Medilodge – Greenview.

Helen Marie Meredith was born in Alpena on May 26, 1937, to the late Robert and Bessie (Miller) Meredith. She married Gary Kortman on July 7, 1956. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Gary; three children, DeLynne (James) Bahling, Steve (Sue) Kortman, Colleen (Tom) Konieczny; son-in-law, Steve Pullis; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Paul “Gene” (Frieda) Meredith, Billy Meredith, Marian (William) Kortman; several nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by a daughter, Cherri Pullis; four siblings, Catherine Houser, Beatrice McNelly, Glenys Snyder and Robert Meredith.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. with the Rev. William Rayment officiating.
