VICKY MARIE THRASHER

April 7, 1958 – Jan. 8, 2025

Vicky Marie Thrasher, 66, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Jan. 8, 2025.

Born on April 7, 1958, in Flint, to the late Herb and Grace (Hill) Yager, Vicky lived a life characterized by her unwavering warmth and generosity.

Vicky’s early years in Flint were filled with the laughter and love of a close-knit family. Her nurturing spirit was evident even then, as she formed enduring bonds with her sisters, Bonnie, Rose (Ray), and Deb (Dan). The family circle expanded to include her own cherished daughters, Jennifer Muszynski (Leon Koreis) and Sheanette (Kevin) Robertson, and later, the joys of her life, granddaughters Alisha and Kelly, great-grandson Braxton, and Brent Goodrich who was like a son to her.

Her loving husband, Leon, whom she adored and who preceded her in death in 2012, shared many beautiful years by her side. Together, they created a home that was a sanctuary of warmth and acceptance for all who entered.

Vicky’s passion for life was evident in her many interests. She had a magical touch with gardens, her home always blooming with plants that she tended with love and care. Her animals, which included her cats, dogs, and especially her horses, were her companions and friends. She found great joy in the freedom of riding through the countryside. In the kitchen, Vicky’s baking brought comfort and delight to family gatherings, her recipes becoming cherished traditions.

Above all, Vicky will be remembered for her loving and kind nature. She was a friend to many, including her special friend, Colleen Davey, with whom she shared countless precious moments. Vicky’s legacy is one of selfless service and boundless affection; she was always the first to offer help and the last to ask for anything in return.

A celebration of Vicky’s life will be held this summer at the family farm. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family.
