Clara’s life was one defined by devotion and service. Widely known for her nurturing spirit, she dedicated her days to being a homemaker, caring for her children. The warmth she brought into family gatherings was felt by all, her laughter echoing well into the hearts of those she loved. She is survived by her children: Bob (Ann) Lewandowski, Connie Adams, Paul (Linda) Lewandowski, Donald Lewandowski, and Dave Lewandowski. A devout Catholic, Clara found peace and purpose through her faith. She loved praying the rosary, a practice that anchored her throughout her life. Her connection to God and the community was profound, fostering friendships that bred warmth, kindness, and spiritual companionship. Clara’s gentle spirit radiated as she stitched together moments of joy and solace.
Beyond her devotion to family and faith, Clara had varied passions. Many will recall her vibrant walks on sunny days, the laughter shared over a friendly game of bingo, and her enthusiasm for tending to her garden, where she cultivated not just vegetables, but bonds with those around her. On any given day, you might find her exercising with joy on her stationary bike where she accumulated a total of 6,451 miles in the entirety of owning it.
Clara’s love story is one for the ages. In 1944, she married the love of her life, Otto Lewandowski, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpena, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey filled with cherishable memories. Together, they created a loving home and a legacy that will endure through their children and grandchildren. Clara’s warmth touched all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by those whose lives were enriched by her compassion and grace.
Clara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Otto, two daughters, Caroline Lewandowski, and Patricia Janosko, and a granddaughter, Marie Aarmon. As we celebrate her life, we remember her unwavering kindness and the countless lives she touched.
