Robert Leland Lang, 90, of Hubbard Lake passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center – Alpena.
Robert was born on July 12, 1934, in Flint. On July 23, 1955, he married Marion Bartz. He worked as a pipe fitter and retired from Local 85 after 42 years of service. Bob enjoyed working in the woods, spending nearly every day in them. He worked building his home for his family, cutting wood for heat, planting trees and was instrumental in the construction and founding of New Life Lutheran Church – Alcona.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 70 years, Marion; 3 children, Valerie (Steven) Larson of Troy, Ohio, Mark (Annette) Lang of Midland, Delynn (Joseph) Streng of Freeland; 11 grandchildren, Rachael (Mark) Halverson, Amelia (Dan) Dotson, Stephanie (Aaron) Chapman, Katrina (Nathan) Terry, Natalie (Russ) Spalding, Nathan (Diane) Larson, SaraLynn (Jonathan) Johnson, Dylan (Shannon) Lang, Jamie Streng, Aaron Streng, Adam Streng; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Ron Rosbeck) Cowden; brothers-in-law, Wilmer Timm, Jim Sanford; sister-in-law, Lydia Lang; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lang was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Eskuri; 3 siblings, David Lang, Elaine (Coleman) Timm and Eilene Sanford.
Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Friday from 2-5 p.m. and will continue at New Life Lutheran Church – Alcona on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Leslie Nye officiating.
