ROBERT LEONARD EMERICK

Robert Leonard Emerick, 87, of Harrisville, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025.

Born April 14, 1937, to George and Grace Mary (Apsey) Emerick in Harrisville, he was a lifelong resident of the area. On June 7, 1958, he married the love of his life Janice (Weinberg) Emerick in Mikado. Bob was born into one of Alcona County’s founding families. He was a lifetime farmer who assumed responsibility for the family farm while representing Alcona County as board member of the Alcona Conservation District and Alcona Board of Review.

Bob deeply loved and was most proud of his family. He was always available to lend an ear, teach, advise, support, and, most importantly, set an example as a husband, father, and grandfather. Bob was a gentle, humble, kind gentleman who will be greatly missed by his family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Janice, three daughters, Kathy (Randy) Thompson, Anita Emerick, and Susan (Mike) Maturen, seven grandchildren, Jessica (Jeremy) Hood, Michael (Laura) Thompson, Madison (Skip) Roncelli, London (Alex) Grodzicki, Joshua (Brooke) Maturen, Jeremy (Amber) Maturen, and Rebekah Maturen, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Hilts, brother-in-law, Dick Hilts, and his niece, Pam Gipson.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Because Bob always supported local youth through the Alcona FFA, and the Alcona County Fair, please consider a memorial donation to either of these organizations in lieu of flowers.
