TERRY W. HISKE

Terry W. Hiske, of Mason, Michigan, age 65, passed away on Feb. 23, 2025. He was born on Jan. 6, 1960, in Alpena to Darvin (Bud) Hiske and Pat (Dant) Hiske.

Terry grew up in Alpena, and later moved to the Lansing area to attend Michigan State University, earning a Bachelor’s of Microbiology. Terry went to work for the State of Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, where he was a soil quality investigator for 30 years. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors and had a passion for fishing, hunting, and gardening. Terry was a generous, compassionate person and loved animals, especially the St. Bernard dogs he had while growing up. Terry’s passion at home was cooking and presenting his family with “master chef” meals.

Terry is survived by Myra Hiske, his wife of 32 years, his mom Pat Hiske, sister Cherrie (Allen) Plume and nephews: Justin Plume, and Sawyer (Tali Snowden) Plume.

He is preceded in death by his dad Darvin (Bud) Hiske and his beloved grandparents: Walter and Ethyl (Black) Dant, and Harold and Rose (Timm) Hiske.

There will be a memorial visitation held from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 Cedar St., Holt, MI 48842.

There will also be a memorial gathering held in Alpena, with the day time to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Holt.
