WILLIAM FRED DIEMOND
Jan. 23, 1957 – March 15, 2025
William Fred Diemond, aged 68, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025. Born on Jan. 23, 1957, in Garden City, Michigan, William was a man whose life was marked by a deep love for his family, a passion for his work, and a zest for the outdoors.
William, known affectionately as Bill to his friends and family, was a devoted husband to his wife, Sandra, and a loving father to his children, Adam (Heather) and Ashlee. He was also a cherished stepfather to Christopher (Shannon) Rogers and Keith (Tammy) Rogers. His role as a grandfather to four grandchildren and five step-grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy and pride.
The son of the late Donald and Lila Diemond, William grew up alongside his sisters, Sandy Dyer of Chicago and Sherry Gemolas of Kalkaska. His early years in Madison Heights laid the foundation for a life full of meaningful relationships and a strong sense of community.
Professionally, William was the proud owner of his own body repair business. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were well-known, and his work ethic was unmatched.
William’s interests were as robust as his personality. An avid hunter, he cherished the times spent in Posen, where he could immerse himself in nature’s beauty. His passion for restoring cars was more than a hobby; it was a way to connect with history and fellow enthusiasts, especially as a fan of the Big Woodward Dream Cruise. William’s love for pizza was legendary, as were the card games played on his deck, surrounded by friends and family. His love for being outdoors was evident in all he did, whether working on a project or simply enjoying the company of loved ones.
Per Williams wishes he has been taken for cremation with no services planned. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Alpena County Animal Control.
