DUANE NEIL BADE

Duane Neil Bade, 87, of Rogers City, went to Heaven on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, while surrounded by family.
He was born April 16, 1938, to Alfred and Mildred (Schroeder) Bade of Hawks.
On Aug. 23, 1958, he married Rita Pines at St. John Lutheran Church in Rogers City. Duane spent a few years working at Abitibi and sailing, before he and Rita bought the family farm in Hawks where they started off with dairy cattle, and then raised beef cattle and cash crops. Later on, he and Rita enjoyed winters in Florida where they made many new friends. Duane enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and playing cards, among other things.
He is survived by his wife Rita of over 66 years; children Kari (Jerry Wontorcik) Bade of Alpena, Bill (Karen) Bade of Hawks, and Carmen (Tony) Howard of Florida; grandchildren, Chandra Romel, Haley (Shaun) Brown, Kristina (Chuck) Mazzarone, Ian Bade, Logan Fleming, and Tori Howard; great-grandchildren, Abel, Greysen, Elias, and Brooks Brown, and David and James Mazzarone, and a brother, Durward Bade of Alpena.
He was preceded in death by brothers Melvin and Elroy, and sister Arlene Kowalewsky.
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Visitation will resume at St. Michael Lutheran Church in Belknap on Wednesday at 10 a.m. until time of his funeral at 11 a.m. with Pastor Paul Boerger officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Michael Lutheran Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow.
