WellSport a welcome addition to our Alpena hospital
MyMichgian Health, the Midland-based owner of the Alpena hospital, recently expanded its WellSport program into Alpena.
The program uses exercise and physical therapy to treat musculoskeletal injuries without surgery.
Jack Pinney, a doctor and medical director of WellSport, told News staff writer Maxwell Olmstead for a recent story that the program trains patients to see exercise as medicine.
“Everyone’s an athlete, or should be,” Pinney told Olmstead.
Alpena’s hospital already is a community jewel, offering a host of important treatments in our back yard.
But MyMichigan Health just keeps adding to that jewel, making the hospital better.
The WellSport program is just another example of that.
We welcome WellSport and its providers to our community and look forward to what it can do for those who need its treatment.
And we thank MyMichigan Health for the investment in Northeast Michigan.
