The Thomas Stafford Dog Park is a very nice perk for dog owners in the city and county to take their pooch for some exercise. It’s a great location too, being right by the river and in the heart of downtown Alpena. However, the dog park could be much better, if they were to relocate the metal benches, metal picnic tables, cement structures, cement slabs and trees outside of the park. This would allow the dogs to play and run freely without the chance of running into all that stuff and getting injured.

The relocation of the benches, picnic tables and trees would allow residents and out of town visitors to enjoy them along the river outside of the dog park. It would be a win/win situation for everybody, especially the dogs.
