In June, shortly after I returned from volunteering at a refugee center in Krakow, Poland, Darby Hinkley wrote a super article about my experiences there and what it was like to interact every day with hundreds of Ukrainian refugees. She captured the details and the emotions far better than my attempt at keeping a journal while there. She used the many little interactions and individual stories to very accurately illustrate the situation of the displaced people and the efforts to help them! I am ever so grateful for her article, and to the staff and ownership of the News for printing this story. It means more than I can say for the opportunity to share my experiences there and it helped launch the One Box for Ukraine initiative here!
