Tell the people we voted for to speak for us
Campaign Finance Laws were originally set to establish equal opportunities for all candidates who ran for political office in the United States. Also, to prevent wealthier candidates from overwhelming voters by jamming the airwaves, publications etc., giving the appearance that they were “better qualified by the mere fact that they were wealthier!” Absurd! In the early 2000s, the influence of Big Money was revisited, allowing “Soft Money” on behalf of the wealthy and then “Citizens United” in 2010 further tilted political influence toward wealthy donors and corporations!
Today with the richest individual in the world, at the behest of the President, is making critical decisions for only the wealthy, not all citizens of America! The old “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” scenario.
Those in current control at the highest level have no idea, no experience; whether by knowledge or years of background interaction, what it takes to run a democratic country such as ours. Our government’s flow chart is complicated and as diverse in the World Arena as are the American people whom it’s Constitution ultimately represents. Innocent workers are laid off, tens of thousands, without regard for the impact on our country. Creating fear of basic survival for families: rent, food! Tariffs threatened on our allies, forcing our country’s financial stability to look like a rollercoaster ride, ultimately having the stock market take dives that we have not seen in decades! President Reagan forewarned the use of tariffs in America as something not to be imposed without suffering dire economic repercussions on the US economy. These are the facts of what an oligarchy wants. You and I must tell the people we voted for to speak for us: to “do your jobs, you work for US… ‘We the People’ of the United States of America.”
