The Alcona High School girls basketball team won 36-21 in a game against Charlton Heston Academy on Monday.

Leading Alcona was Elliyana Grimshaw with 12 points. Rilee Ttracy, Claire Somers, and Isabela Bravata each contributed five points.

The Tigers play Roscommon at 5:30 p.m. today.

ALCONA BOYS LOSE TO BEAL CITY

The Alcona boys basketball team lost to Beal City on Tuesday, 76-51.

With the regional semifinal loss, the Tigers’ season has come to an end. Alcona wrapped up the season 20-4 and district champs, as well as back to back league championships.

Leading Alcona on Tuesday was Evan Borsvold with 23 points and Gavin Dellar with 13 points.

“The guys came out hungry and ready to play,” coach Alex Cole said. “They executed the game plan early but Beal City’s offensive attack was more than we can handle. I’m proud of the guys effort all night.”
