Firefighters with the Maple Ridge Fire Department and Alpena Township Fire Department respond to a vehicle fire that broke out at 5020 Long Rapids Road on Monday afternoon. The vehicle’s occupants were inside the vehicle when the fire started but were uninjured and able to exit the vehicle. Nate Seelye with the Maple Ridge Fire Department said a neighbor was able to extinguish the fire before firefighters arrived. Alpena Township Fire Department’s north side station assisted at the scene. The Alpena County Sheriff’s Office and Jerome’s Towing also assisted at the scene.
